Salt air corrosion is the single biggest difference between installing an EV charger on the northern beaches and installing one anywhere else in Sydney, and it's something Power & Solar Group designs around on every coastal job. Humidity and salt exposure eat into external wiring, connectors and mounting hardware faster than most homeowners expect, which is why we specify IP65-rated equipment as standard, not an optional upgrade, for every charger we mount outdoors on the northern beaches.

Beyond the charger itself, we fit marine-grade stainless steel mounting hardware, UV-resistant cable conduit and sealed cable glands on every coastal install, so the whole system is built to last in salt air, not just the unit on the wall.

Single-family homes offer the most flexibility, since you control the switchboard, the garage or carport, and the cable route. Plenty of northern beaches homes still have original switchboards from the 1960s though, so an upgrade is sometimes part of the job, and since the distance from your meter box to the parking spot is the biggest single factor in cost.

Strata and apartment buildings need owners corporation approval before any charger goes in, since car bays often sit on common property and fair billing has to be worked out across multiple residents.
